Do you dream of having that perfect figure? Well, we all do don’t we, even if some of us aren’t willing to admit it. We all want to look in the mirror and see Mr muscle or a beautiful athlete. But how do you get it and achieve this level of beauty? Well, if you want that kind of figure you will have to work for it, it won’t come easy. But you also shouldn’t believe the myths. I know that there are a lot of different claims online and everywhere about how long it takes to get in shape. The range from the ridiculous (two weeks) to the severely pessimistic (two years).

So, the question I’m sure you’re wondering is why am I saying six months? Even if you exercise every single day you probably won’t see any effect for at least a couple of months. The best trainer couldn’t get you looking the way you want in a month let alone two weeks! Six months is a realistic time frame for a toned, attractive figure. But only if you take my advice and follow it to a Tee.

Exercise Regularly

Despite what you may have been told, you don’t have to exercise every day to get in shape. Once every other day is certainly enough, particularly if you have a fast metabolism. That way, you won’t start burning muscle instead of fat because that is the last thing that you want to happen. It’s also vital to know how much exercise you need to complete each day. Those who think the amount changes depending on what exercising you are completing are wrong. Any exercise will benefit your body as long as you are doing it regularly. The right amount of time will almost always depend on your level of endurance as well as your stamina. But, on average, forty minutes of exercise with ninety seconds between sets is a good regime to aim for.

Buy The Right Equipment

If you’re exercising at home, it’s important that you buy the right equipment. If you’re exercising in the gym, then you will have everything you need. But I realize most people would rather exercise in private, and that’s fine. You just need to make sure you are using exercise machines that will actually help you get fit. For example, a classic choice is obviously a treadmill. This will work out your calves as well as your arms if you run properly. However again, don’t spend forever on the treadmill. Otherwise, you will start losing muscle mass.

Change Your Diet

If you’re looking to lose weight rather than just put on muscle, it won’t be enough just to start exercising. You will also need to change your diet. The quickest way to lose weight is to eat less while keeping your diet under control. I recommend you use a calorie counter to watch exactly how much your intake is. That way, you’ll also be able to cut out the foods that add the most calories.

Finally, it’s crucial that you don’t stop and start. Keep this plan up for six months and I guarantee you’ll get the body you want and deserve.

Important Lessons to Help You Deal with Ageing

Hand in Hand

How are you feeling about getting older? I know I’m nowhere near old age, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think about it sometimes. Having kids can make you feel older as you watch them grow, even if you have them at a relatively young age. And it seems like everyone is always trying to convince you that you should roll over and give up as soon as you hit 30, let alone 40 or 50. Dealing with ageing can be difficult, and I can’t say I’m looking forward to my twilight years. But it’s inevitable that I’m going to get older, so I have to face it at some time. These are my top ways to meet the ageing process head on.

Reflect and Plan

When getting older is getting you down, you can think about your life up until this point. You might have been around for a while, but think about everything you’ve achieved in that time. You’ve come a long way since you were 5, 15 or 25, and you’ve experienced a lot of things. It’s also a good idea to think about the future and make some plans. Just because you’re getting older, it doesn’t mean you don’t still have plenty of life left to live. You can decide what you want to do with your remainder of your career. Make some plans to travel or think about what you’re going to do when you eventually get to retire.

Resist It

You can’t stop your body from ageing, but you can try to keep it looking younger for longer. You can find anti aging clinics that offer a range of treatments to help you stay youthful. You could go for something permanent that requires surgery, or you could use something that will wear off. And there are lots of products on the market you can use to keep your skin looking young and beautiful. Age isn’t just about looks, though, and you can stay young in your mind too. Who says you have to stop doing all the things you did when you were younger once you hit a certain age? There’s no reason you can’t enjoy the same things.

Find the New You

On the other hand, you might be quite happy to change. As you get older, your interests and your opinions can begin to change. You can deal with ageing by finding out who you are as an older person. Maybe you want to find a new passion for playing a sport or take up a hobby you’ve never tried before. Your look might change too, and you could find yourself liking different fashions that still make you look glamorous.

Remember How Long You’ve Got

One of the most important things to keep in mind is that we’re now living longer than ever before. The idea of being old isn’t the same as it used to be. Many people wouldn’t regard people in their 60s as being old, especially because most of them are still full of life. So whenever you feel old, just think how lucky you are that you’re still around.

I hope I don’t start feeling too old for a long time. But when I do, I’m planning to age with grace.

Running: Do it the Right Way!

Running can be a great exercise, but only if you do it right. If you don’t do it properly, you could end up seriously injuring yourself. Have a read through this post to ensure that you’re running properly, and you’ll get the best results:

Start off Slowly

If you’ve never been running before, it’s imperative that you start off slowly. You should do it at a pace that suits you, and only run a short distance. Make sure you build yourself up gradually. Doing more than you’re used to right from the off can leave you with injuries and a reluctance to do anything again! Use an app to monitor your runs and go from there. Remember, it’s not about beating anybody else; you’re only in competition with yourself!

Warm Up First

Make sure you warm up a little first before you start running. Don’t stretch, as doing this to cold muscles can actually hinder your performance. Instead, do things like air squats, lunges, and star jumps. This is called a dynamic warm up and will get your blood pumping!

Wear the Right Shoes

If you plan on running, you absolutely must wear the right running shoes. You can go to any sports shop and ask if you’re unsure, or check out a retailer online. The best running shoes have a bit of a spring to them to cushion the foot.

Practice Proper Form

Just like weight lifting, running has a proper form too. You can’t start running like Phoebe from Friends and expect not to get injured! You should make sure your knees stay behind your toes, and that you don’t hunch while you run. Your hands should be loose, and arms just under your chest. It doesn’t matter too much whether you bounce off your heel or toe, but you should aim to land softly to avoid injury. Make sure your breathing is steady too! It may take some time for you to find what works for you and that’s fine. Just don’t hurt yourself!

Give Yourself Time to Recover

It can be tempting to run every day once you’ve started, but this won’t help you in the long run. You may actually find that you exhaust yourself more than anything. You need to give yourself an adequate amount of time to recover in between your runs. Aim to go 3 times a week to start with, and only build up when you feel ready. You can do cardio every day if you like, but you shouldn’t make your sessions too long as that’s definitely overdoing it. Make sure you’re getting plenty of sleep and take a hot bath with salts sometimes too. It should help to ease aches and pains!

This guide will help you get into running the right way and stick to it. You’ll avoid injury, and before you know it you’ll be running like you never thought you would. Keep an eye on any strange pains, and if they persist see your doctor. Aching is normal, but hurting is not! Thanks for reading!

Your Guide to a Healthy Future

We all want a healthy future. No one wants to be an immobile elderly person who needs help with everything they do. This guide will ensure that you not only become healthier now, but in the long run too. These tips will help you to lead a long, fulfilling life:

Change Your Eating Habits

If your eating habit aren’t supporting your body, then you should change them. You’ll get the most out of eating natural foods 80% of the time, and treats 20% of the time. Consider your health before you eat anything. Is this food making you healthier or better in some way? Is it nourishing your body? Be honest. If not, you probably shouldn’t eat it. Do lots of research so you know what’s good for you and what isn’t. Many people believe diet foods are good for them, but they’re not. The ingredients they contain are actually dangerous for health. Be aware of what you’re putting in your body and enjoy everything in moderation.

Don’t Be Lazy

Find ways to fit more exercise into your day. Lots of people say that they don’t have time for exercise, but everybody has the same amount of hours in a day. You can find time for exercise if you make it a priority. Don’t lie to yourself. Sometimes, you only need 20 minutes for a good HIIT workout. You can easily set up a circuit in your living room before you leave for work. Don’t allow yourself to make excuses!

Train Your Brain

Brain training is a great way to keep your mind healthy and strong. Many of us exercise our bodies, but fail to exercise our brains! You can use lots of different brain training apps to keep your brain strong and sharp. Don’t neglect it or you might wish you’d acted differently when it’s too late!

Make the Time for Friends and Family

Don’t let work take over your life. Make the time for your friends and family. Not only will this pick up your mood, you’ll also enjoy a better quality of life. In fact, studies have shown that spending more time with friends and family can actually improve your performance at work. If you need to make new friends, join groups and take up new hobbies. Tips And Tricks To Help Relieve Inflammation

Most of us have suffered from inflammation at some point in our lives. As we age, we may have to live with inflammation every day. Arthritis and other conditions that are associated with inflamed areas of the body can be very painful all the time. But it’s possible to cause similar symptoms just by overdoing it at the gym.

Whether you are fit and healthy or not, pain is not fun. It’s very difficult to tolerate the pain that you cannot relieve. You may start to treat it by taking anti-inflammatory painkillers from your pharmacy. These are fine for a few days, but drugs like Ibuprofen can upset the lining of your stomach. They are not often a long term solution.

More and more people are finding that gently using the affected area can bring gentle relief. It is advisable to speak to your doctor about your condition or injury first, though. Inflamed muscles should be treated differently than inflamed joints for example. Muscles tear when we use them, especially in bodybuilding. They take time to knit and repair. The gentle movement of the area can be helpful during this period.

If you don’t keep an area mobile, you may find it more difficult to gain that mobility back later. So long as you are not aggravating the sore area, you should continue to move gently the limbs affected. Don’t let your posture alter. We often tense and hold our body in unnatural positions when we are in pain. This will cause tension, pain, and even injury in other areas of the body.

Many people turn to natural remedies for pain relief. It is thought that some hemp oils can provide relief from inflammation. You can find out more about it at It is thought there may be several other benefits of this natural oil. If you have had no relief from prescription medication, turning to supplements could be worth a try.

Heat and cold can help with muscle and joint pain sometimes. Heat keeps the area warm when it is aching from the cold. But if you are inflamed, it is usually best to apply cold to the area. This is especially true if you have an injury. Heat is soothing for spasms and muscle pains that are not inflamed. Heat applied to a new injury may even cause additional pain.

Sleep is difficult to do when you are in pain. But it is still one of the most effective remedies for pain. It gives your body a chance to heal and renew. Regular massages to keep the tension out of your body can also be quite beneficial. It’s not necessary to massage the affected area. Try to improve your diet while you are in pain. Your body is dealing with enough without being bombarded with junk food to digest.

Vegetarianism or a diet with plenty of fish is thought to reduce inflammation. Try to stop consuming refined sugar and drink plenty of green tea to help with this condition if it is long term. Be healthy.

7 Tried & Tested Ways To Soothe Chronic Pain

Yoga on the Beach of Riviera Maya

Living with chronic pain is tiresome and relentless. The pain comes in many different forms, depending on the sufferer. The most common form of chronic pain is back or neck aches, but it can come from anywhere. Some conditions, like Regional Pain Syndrome affects specific areas of the body such as the legs and arms. For some chronic pain conditions, there is no cure, only management and soothing. That’s what we’re here to help with today. We’ll show you the best, and most effective ways to reduce your everyday pain.

Keeping things at a manageable level is a daily task, and you’ll need to make plenty of lifestyle changes. Learning to cope and adapt to chronic pain isn’t easy, but it all starts by making a plan! Read the following measures, and begin to incorporate them into your life as much as possible.

  1. Yoga and meditation

The root of chronic back and neck pain lies in your muscles. It’s the tension and tightness that comes with muscle age and use. We naturally build up tension in our neck and shoulder muscles, and it needs a release. Yoga and meditation is a fantastic way to do that. Many people snub these alternative therapies, but if you’ve tried everything else, it’s worth a shot! The core of yoga and meditation is managing your breathing. Deep breathing allows you to relax, which in turn helps drain the tension from your muscles. Some soft yoga will also help stretch your muscles, and wring out the pain.

  1. Reduce stress

Everyone has different triggers and causes when it comes to chronic pain. But, doctors all agree on one thing: stress worsens it! No matter the source of your pain, stress will amplify it immensely. Why? Because we hold our stress in our shoulders, back, and neck. Stress causes our muscles to tense up which fuels the pain. Think about your everyday lifestyle, and how it contributes to your stress levels. Perhaps it’s time to reduce your hours at work, or move on from a trying job. If there are stresses in the home, face up to them, and try to mitigate them.

  1. Soft exercise

Exercise produces a string of natural, feel-good chemicals. Endorphins are nature’s painkillers, and by taking regular exercise, you can help reduce the pain. The endorphins will also boost your mood, happiness, and motivation. This is essential when dealing with relentless pain. Secondly, exercise will help strengthen those painful muscles. It will help defend against further injury and pain problems.

  1. Stop smoking and drinking

Studies show that regular smoking and drinking can exacerbate the pain levels in your body. Alcohol is a particular problem because it disrupts your sleep pattern terribly. Sleeping with chronic pain is hard enough as it is, without throwing alcohol into the mix. Try to remove it from your life, or cut back significantly. The problem with smoking lies with blood flow. Healthy circulation helps ease pain, because your muscles get all the oxygen they need. Smoking disrupts that flow, and breeds painful symptoms.

  1. Massage

Now, here’s one lifestyle change you can wholeheartedly embrace! Massages help target the specific pain areas, and loosen those muscles. Remember, the pain is almost always muscle based, caused by tension. Massages help work out the nots and stress in your neck and shoulders. They’ll ease the pain by softening those core muscle groups. If you’re suffering from a particular chronic pain, let your masseuse know, and they’ll target it specifically. Other treatments like acupuncture have also proved very effective here.

  1. Good diet

A healthy diet is critical whether you’re suffering from chronic pain or not. But, it’s time to take a long, hard look at your current intake. You need to keep your blood sugar levels at a healthy dose to ensure good blood flow. You need to keep your weight down, to avoid putting more stress on those painful areas. A balanced diet will keep your body in good working order.

  1. Drug treatments

Of course, there are plenty of medicinal answers. Simple painkillers may do the trick when it comes to early pain symptoms. Speak to your doctor about the right prescription for you. There are also more controversial options out there. The use of medical ketamine and medical marijuana is rising rapidly in the USA. Speak to the specialists about whether this route might benefit you.

Living with chronic pain is possible is you learn to manage it correctly. What tricks do you use to soothe your pain?
