Clinical thermometer is a medical gadget that is a must-have in every home.  It is use to measure body temperature,especially when a family member is running a fever. It is deem necessary to monitor the numeric value of the hotness of the body temperature to avoid seizures and other complicated incidents due to high grade fever.

Nowadays, mercury thermometers are no longer utilized due to its harmful health effect. Digital thermometers (battery-run)are preferred and recommended.

 

The generally accepted normal temperature reading is 37.0°C or 98.6°F. We usually have lower body temperature in the morning than in the afternoon.Variations in temperature may vary due to the location of the temperature reading.  Oral temperature follows theguideline I previously mentioned.  A rectal temperature is generally 0.5°C/1.0°F higher. An axillary (under the armtemperature will be 0.5°C/1.0°F lower. Normally, we usually check on the underarm temperature.

 

Make sure to clean the thermometer before and after use with a clean cloth and isopropyl or ethyl alcohol.If the unit is waterproof, you can submerge it in alcohol. Always store the unit in its protective case when not in use. Store the unit in your medicine cabinet,or where it would not be exposed to direct sunlight, dust or humidity. It should only be used under the supervision of an adult.
