One of the main concerns that most teenage girls deal with are the skin breakouts and acne that comes during certain times. Teenage girls become more conscious and aware of their looks and having bad skin can ruin their social lives, affect their self esteem and the general way they feel about themselves. While you cannot do anything about hormonal changes that happen during this period, you can always find ways to control and take care of your skin to prevent skin issues.

Choose Natural
In most cases, young girls tend to experiment with beauty products but it is best to choose those made with natural ingredients. Products with chemicals and synthetic ingredients may be cheaper but it can be harsher and cause negative effects on the skin.
Test New Make Up
Even with “safe and natural” cosmetics, it is important that you do test it first. Apply a bit of the product on your ear lobes or under the chin and leave it on for a few hours to see if there are any skin reactions.
Check the Expiry Date
Before using any cosmetics, whether it is newly bought or given as gift. After the expiry date, these products are no longer safe to use and may do more harm than good to your skin.
Keep Make Up at a Minimum
Avoid covering up bad spots with too much make up especially if you have sensitive skin. This may just clog your pores and make the problem even worse.
Cleanse Your Skin
After a day of wearing makeup or being exposed to the elements, always clean your face properly to avoid skin irritations and allow your skin to breathe as you sleep.
