Saltwater Gargle – One of the fastest ways to relieve a sore throat is by gargling with salt water. Salt takes the water out of the mucous membranes in the throat and clears up the phlegm. The salt also acts as an antiseptic. When you dissolve some salt in warm water and gargle, you will begin to feel relief. Do this about four times a day.
