All personal trainers use different methods. Take a look at them and see if you like the way they look. They more than likely use the methods they will be teaching to you! Some use heavy weights, others use plyometrics. Some use HIIT sessions. Some use a mix of everything! It’s best if you mix things up, because then you won’t get bored. Make sure you know what methods a trainer uses before working with them.
Some Of Them Are Overpriced
Some trainers are definitely overpriced. In some gyms, you must pay £300 for 1 training session a week for a month. What’s the point in that? You don’t want to go with the cheapest personal trainer, but you don’t want to pay through the nose like that. I could understand if they were a famous celebrity personal trainer – but most aren’t.
They Can’t Do all the Work for You
You need to put work in too. Handing over the cash won’t transform you. You need to change your diet and work hard in order to see the results you want. Going through the motions while doing the exercises isn’t recommended – make sure you’re putting in lots of effort. Focus and concentrate on utilising each exercise to get the best results.
They Should Be Covered
Personal trainers should be covered with personal trainer insurance. If not, you could get injured and have to pay for expensive medical treatment. It’s up to you to make sure the trainer you work with is working legitimately. It’s possible to become injured when training hard, so you should take precautions.
They Should Have a Loyal Client Base
If a personal trainer doesn’t have a loyal client base, what does that say about them? If people work with them only to leave a while later, they can’t be helping their clients break through plateaus and reach goals as much as they should. They should be able to give you a few of their clients to contact so you can chat with them about how the trainer has helped them. This should help you to make a decision.
